Goat Island is a national park island right in the middle of the harbour. This island is part of the Sydney Harbour National Parks system, and it has an extraordinary history. In colonial times, Goat Island was used as a convict stockade, a quarry, and later used for a gunpowder magazine storage depot. Since then, it has also been used as a fire station, police station, a movie set, and the island is now a popular tourist attraction for day trips.
Goat Island is a truly unique place. It sits squarely in the middle of Sydney Harbour, with spectacular views of the city and the entire surrounding area. This fabulous island is easily accessible using our Sydney Harbour water taxis. If you’d like to visit this incredible place, it’s easy to arrange.
